Main cosmetic uses of sodium bicarbonate

Solid shampoos and hair care. It is added in small proportions to solid shampoos and detox hair treatments to help remove sebum, silicone and styling product buildup from the scalp, leaving hair with more volume.

Body scrubs. Its fine powder texture makes it suitable as a base or complement in gentle body and facial scrubs, blended with vegetable oils and other emollients to moderate its abrasive effect on skin.
