What is refined hazelnut oil?

Refined hazelnut oil is pressed from the fruit of the hazel tree (Corylus avellana) and then undergoes a refining process that removes impurities, odour and residual colour, resulting in a more neutral and stable oil compared to its virgin or cold-pressed counterpart.

Its composition is dominated by fatty acids such as oleic and linoleic acid, together with antioxidant vitamin E and trace amounts of phytosterols and polyphenols. These characteristics give it moisturising and emollient properties highly valued in cosmetic formulation, along with a silky, non-greasy feel that makes it easy to incorporate into many product types.

Main cosmetic uses of refined hazelnut oil
