What is Ghassoul clay?

Ghassoul clay is a naturally occurring clay mineral, traditionally extracted in the Atlas region, composed mainly of minerals such as magnesium, calcium and iron. It also contains silica, giving it gentle exfoliating properties and a fine texture suited to cosmetic formulations.
