What is organic borage oil?

Organic borage oil is cold-pressed from borage seeds grown under certified organic farming, without synthetic solvents or fertilizers, which preserves its natural lipid profile. It is composed mainly of linoleic acid, gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and vitamin E, alongside smaller amounts of oleic acid and palmitoleic acid.

Its notably high GLA content -among the highest of any vegetable oil available in bulk- sets it apart from other base oils and makes it a valued active for formulations targeting dry, mature or barrier-compromised skin. It may also contain phytosterols and natural antioxidants that support its oxidative stability.

Main cosmetic uses of organic borage oil
