Citrus sinensis

Sweet orange essential oil is obtained by cold pressing the fresh peel of the fruit of Citrus sinensis. This tree is native to India, Vietnam, Pakistan and southeast China. Currently its cultivation has spread throughout the world, especially in temperate climates. The monoterpene limonene, which is responsible for the organoleptic properties of sweet orange, stands out in its composition. We also find the minority presence of myrcene, a terpene with aromatic properties. Sweet orange essential oil has a very pleasant sweet and fruity aroma.
