Organic tea tree essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia. This is a local bush from Australia which is nowadays very popular for its many properties. In addition to the presence of terpinene-4-ol, with a minimum percentage of 35%, the presence of γ-terpinene stands out in its composition. The tea tree owes its many applications to its complex composition of mono and sesquiterpene alcohols. Therefore, tea tree essential oil is currently one of the most beneficial oils in aromatherapy.
